Walk with Adri: My Parisian Reset

Paris in May isn’t New York in May. New York, races like it has somewhere to be. But in Paris, time saunters—heels clicking on cobblestone, perfume mixing with "café crème", and a soft light casting poetry on even the mundane.

My unexpected escape to the City of Light finally forced me to slow down and look back, instead of racing forward. I wandered from Le Pavillon de la Reine’s velvet-draped lobby straight into the day’s surprises: jewelry drawings spanning over a century of design at the Petit Palais, a spontaneous vintage spree where my friend Laura collapsed under a pile of 15-euro treasures, and a hauntingly charming visit to the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal with my friend Maria Robla, who whispered about the pendant’s protective powers. There were couture textiles from Vashai Paris, sacred medal molds at Arthus Bertrand, and long lunches at Mimosa with handbag muse Marie Guldberg of Marma Club. Even a quick email break to check a sapphire setting from Titi Atelier couldn’t distract me for long.

Paris slowed me down, pulled me into the past, and reminded me to savor beauty and indulge. The city seduces your senses, feeds your creativity, and proves that pleasure is power. And yes, if you're lucky, you can end your day with a pianist at splendind Bar Les Ambassadeurs.
